Look uo the German band Erdmobel, they've got some fab covers like "Riecht Wie Teen Spirit (Smells Like Teen Spirit)", "Aus Meinem Kopf (Can't Get You Out Of My Head)" and "Nah bei dir (They Long to Be) Close to You)".
Thanks to all the Karel Gott fans out there. I still haven't heard much from him where he croons like Sinatra. In most of his songs of his that I've heard he manhandles them like Tom Jones. That's not a bad thing, I love Tom Jones. But he does seem to have a place in German culture similar to Sinatra's place in American culture.

I figured that the Google translations wouldn't be very good. I like translating stuff from English to another language and then back to English to find out how badly it ends up. I'm glad that some folks found them amusing, but I was really just trying to make the blog a little friendlier to my German visitors. I thought they would have an easier time that way getting a feel for what I was talking about.

And thanks for letting me know about Die Roten Rosen.

Obviously lots of guilty pleasures addicts here. How about : Frank Sinatra was the American Karel Gott. It makes as much sense as above comments.

The translations aren't the least bit funny, btw.
